It is amazing how a car can change things.
I had been warned that once I got the car I would be running errands for just about everybody So far that has not been a bother, in fact I kind of Enjoy it, these past weeks though have re-enforced my dislike for driving in the days, I hate when other cars are on the road. My new fav. word is jackass, those who drive with me must wonder.
I must say that I am not nearly as pissed as I sound, I always feel guilty enough to know that the person who bad drives me today may be bad driven by me tomorrow.
First couple of weeks saw quite a few near accidents, but as predicted I am learning to compensate for my weaknesses.
Oddly enough, Driving has started to give me serious lessons in how to make decisions and sticking with them for better or worse, I have been given near ‘crash’ courses in learning that you cant please everybody, all one can do is make the best choice you can as you see fit and have faith that God will take care of the rest.
That leads to the other thing that driving has done for me, the fact that the car is without a scratch up to this point is purely divine intervention, for that I am eternally grateful, Now I try not to begin the day with asking for guidance and protection on the road.
I am also learning to be less concerned with Critics, Primarily the panyard :P. I still haven’t got over it yet though, I still prefer to go driving by myself.
Having the fan on , the windows down, my sunglasses on and the radio playing some HYPE tunes on a clear empty road where I can Drive and not know where I want to go till I reach is just my Idea of a perfect day (sigh)
But the whole point of the blog is to talk about freedom. Sunday I left work to have lunch at the lookout point in Beverly Hills, Just because I could……. I don’t know if you can begin understand what that means. Sure ppl were looking at me funny but I was overjoyed. The fact that I can go almost where ever I please without relying on anyone is just amazing.
Right now Wish I could set up my care to play and excerpt from Martin Luther King when it starts:
“FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, THANK GOD ALLMIGHTY, I AM FREE AT LAST”

LOL! U KNOW!
I very much relate to this post. It's funny, actually, because I decided ages ago that one of the first things I'd do when I got a car was drive up to a lookout point and watch the sunrise or sunset. It must be a cool feeling. And I'm very much one to go driving without a specific person, just to see, feel and enjoy.
One day... one day soon.
