ADVANTAGE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its that time again… high pressure at work and at pan has me feeling rather overwhelmed at times. Can i tell you though, Machel’s road march song this year has lifted my spirits so many times… sigh.

Let me give you the break down:

♫ The Stage is in front of us, time to get advantageous!♫

This is a call to arms. To face the up coming panfest season, and new application projects with joy and anticipation. It is a reminder that I am once again being called to do what i was born to do, what i love to do. Don’t let the obstacles fool you, they are but props on the stage we were meant to take advantage of.

♫Stamp On it! Stamp On it! Stamp On it! Stamp On it!
Trample it! Trample it! Trample it! Trample it!♫

This is almost self explanatory. It is a clear and unequivocal instruction to mercilessly and ruthlessly annihilate all obstacles. It is a battle cry, a war chant. It is a rhythm, a beat, that all that stand in your way will fall to.

♫Stamp On it! Jump On it! Wave On it!
Wine it! trample on it! Run on it! ♫

This is the most important reminder… why this song will forever live in my heart.

This my, friends is the reminder to have fun, to enjoy yourself, to not be inhibited, to let loose and live!.

My Wedding

While having a discussion with a friend I started to give her the only wedding that I would be willing to participate in and while listing out the requirements I realized it would make a good post.... so here goes.

  • To start, my wedding outfit will consist of my face being painted in a blue and white stripes and i will also be wearing a quilt (reference: Braveheart).
  • To enter i will kick open the chapel doors screaming "THIS IS SPARTA!" (reference: 300)
  • Upon reaching the altar i would greet the pastor with: "Ave, Caesar, morituri te salutant"
(this is latin for "We who are about to die salute you". It was the greeting gladiators gave to Ceasar before that start of a bout)
  • When the ring is put on my finger i will cry; "FREEDOM!"
    (reference Braveheart)
  • Once the ring is one my finger, my captor... er I mean wife, will the latch the ceremonial ball and chain to my ankle and swallow the the key and the ceremoniously say:
    To retrieve this key this bond doth give thee here no jot of blood;
The words expressly are 'till death do us part':
    Take then thy bond, take thou thy key to freedom;
But, in the cutting it, if thou dost shed
One drop of Christian blood, thy lands and goods
Are, by the laws of Venice, confiscate

(reference: Merchant of venice.)

If ANY woman shall be found willing to have such a wedding I Mark Paul Errol Hylton will assiduously and seriously, diligently and deliberately consider taking this woman for my wife.

What the...!

The Lakers got swept out of the playoffs!!!!!???

I am in shock, the world as i know it is no more, and i have entered the twilight zone. Don't get me wrong, I am no Laker Lover, but I wanted my Celtics to be the one to but the dagger in their hearts denying them the much anticipated 3peat...

Sigh, alas it was the Mavericks (a team i actually dislike more than the Lakers) and that leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. As such the NBA title is truly up for grabs for the first time in years.

The truth is, as great as my Celts are, they are old and right now the athleticism of the Heats are giving them a run for their money. And even when they are done.. the sleeper of this tournament will be waiting on them... Reditum La BULLS

I am now just waiting with bated breath to see how this tournament will end.

Osama

Osama is Dead!

And a nation rejoiced.
Where as i do believe that was the best end for this man. I am somewhat disturbed at the celebrations at the death of a human being.

My feelings on the matter is one of sorrow, for the those that suffered at his hands, and for the fact that he was such a lost individual that he would be driven to such depths... there is nothing to rejoice about here... just reasons to mourn.

In light of this I marvel at the specie i belong to. We have been given much, and for all our joys and triumphs we are never far from proving our unworthiness of it all.

When will we, as the human race, ever grow up and be collectively responsible for ourselves. When? Will it ever happen?

BLITZ

This post is being written because i have not posted here in too long:-

  • Individuality is both our greatest strength and weakness as a species. As a result it may lead to our demise. I do believe however, that utopia can only be achieved through the demolishing or altering (drastically) of this concept.
  • Who is God? Is the religion you find yourself and accident (or divine plan) of birth?
  • Bruce Bruce Bruce... not in my cabinet... yet I want to believe in his sincerity sooo much. I must admit in spite of all that has happened, I still want to believe he wants what's best for Jamaica..... In fact, let me not lie. I still believe he does, I am just no longer certain he is the man for the Job... it pains me to admit that.
  • I find Jamaica is RIPE for another party, a new leader... a new brand of ultimately corrupt politics, but there is no one to answer the call.
  • The war(s) between the east and the west is ultimately a religious war. The problem is religion is the breeding ground for intransigent mind sets, and as such our future looks bleak.
  • What is it about ideologies that leave no room for opposition?

the beam in my own eye

Often times I have wondered about ppl who do not suffer from depression yet complain Constantly. Often times I find myself wanting to avoid these people as we both know there is nothing to complain about. Lately however I have found myself falling into that boat. This must Change.
